Former US National Security Agency director Bobby Ray Inman voiced doubt Tuesday that North Korea would give up its nuclear arms, as UN inspectors arrived in Pyongyang after a near five-year absence. “My scepticism comes from the fact I don’t think any country that has actually got nuclear weapons has given them up,” he told reporters during a visit to Japan.
Instead, the international community may only be able to persuade North Korea not to build more nuclear weapons, the 76-year-old retired admiral said.
